It has become a global imperative to educate and train:

Children in Radical Zones – Many children are targeted as radical recruits for war. Forced conversion of a young mind is as pernicious as it is immoral.

Girls In Poverty-Stricken Regions — 62 million girls are not in school resulting in their diminished capacity for income, vulnerability to HIV/AIDS, early and forced marriage and other forms of violence.

Young Adults Everywhere – Education must be relevant to industry and result in employment. We can no longer expect academia to provide cutting edge, specific training and education that will employ youth in all corners of the world.

Refugees Seeking a New Life – In the midst of conflict, education or training is often seen as a luxury for refugees or internally displaced people who are also struggling to find food, aid and shelter. But education is a basic right, one that is vital in restoring hope and dignity to people driven from their homes. It helps them to get back on their feet and build a better future. It is the refugees with an education, above all, who provide leadership during displacement and in rebuilding communities recovering from conflict.

Adults Without Knowledge or Skills – So many adults have received limited or no education. We must provide adults everywhere the opportunity to become educated and trained without stigma or shame.

By 2020, we will leverage our model of no- and low-cost online education and training for all by creating hundreds of low cost, open online MOOC, micro, technical certification and degree programs.  Simply, we’ve created a new model in online education and now it will be expanded.
